Fintech Is Femme Kicks Off New York Fintech Week With Inaugural Leadership Summit

Hi, fintech fam! đź’ś

Sometimes, an event can be so significant that it divides our lives into "before" and "after."

For me, that event was the inaugural Fintech Is Femme Leadership Summit, which took place yesterday at Rise, created by Barclays in New York City.

It marked the realization of a 7-year-old idea and changed my life in ways I never imagined.

The summit brought together women in fintech from all walks of life, providing a sense of connection and creating a diverse movement around shared issues and values.

It was a platform for women to grow their careers, learn from industry pioneers, and inject inclusivity, sustainability, and profitability into the financial ecosystem.

The event was attended by 300 women (and a handful of very smart men) who came to learn from 25 female speakers representing the entire spectrum of fintech business lines.

It was not just a gathering but a community, probably the most representative collective of fintech leaders this industry has ever seen.

Organizing this mammoth undertaking required the brightest minds in fintech, and I'm deeply grateful to them for making it possible.

I met so many incredible women at the summit - diverse and multigenerational - who shared their stories of transformation and their hopes for the future of fintech. Their presence and contributions made this event truly special.

For us, this summit was significant because it was designed for the female half of the country.

It was a stark reminder that women have been excluded from such events before, but we're now taking ownership of this industry and paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse future.

Check out my upcoming newsletters for coverage of the insights from the event’s fireside chats, panels, and presentations. In my Tuesday column, I'll share valuable tactics, strategies, and blueprints from the event speakers.

But, for today's newsletter (as I recover from an epic event), please enjoy a highlight reel of yesterday's history-making event through the lens of our brilliant on-site photographers, Noa Griffel & Luke Walter.

UPGRADE TO PREMIUM

During the Fintech Is Femme Leadership Summit, Asya Bradley, a prominent founder, super angel investor, and LP, made an unprompted call to action to sign up for the premium subscription of this newsletter.

I am extremely grateful for her support. By becoming a paid subscriber, you contribute to the sustainability of Fintech Is Femme (an annual subscription costs $50 or $4.99 per month).

WHY UPGRADE?

There’s a big difference between how the mainstream media covers fintech and how I do it. Every week, I will provide you with the latest fintech news (minus the BS), profiles of inspiring women in fintech, and insightful analysis of industry trends to help you stay ahead of the competition.

For our premium members, I send out updates 3x a week through our new column, "On Performance.” These columns will provide tactical advice to improve your entrepreneur and business leader performance.

Plus, premium members support female-led journalism and keep this work going. Because of your support, Fintech Is Femme is more than just a newsletter; it's a media empire and community for women to connect, learn, and support one another.
