Fight digital distraction by warming-up your focus

Happy Sunday, fintech fam! 💜

Welcome to the latest edition of our "On Performance" column! I hope your weekend has been restful and energizing.

On Sunday nights, the Fintech Is Femme team provides you with techniques, blueprints, and tactics to create captivating performances that will boost your career in the fintech industry - whether on stage delivering your first keynote talk or in meetings pitching your next big idea.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for those of you who follow me on social media.

Between an exciting Women’s History Month virtual event featuring finance titans like Besty Cohen and Tori Dunlap, a full day at Nasdaq celebrating our annual Fintech Trailblazer competition, and prepping content and creative for our upcoming Leadership Summit on April 8th, I have been in full-blown performance mode.

To get through, I’ve had to rely on a secret weapon – a proper warm-up routine.

Now, I get that warming up is probably the last thing an executive thinks about before hosting a panel or an event, but I’ve found that it is incredibly important to:

  • Re-center my focus

  • Engage my body

  • Practice effectively

In this second installment of a three-part mini-series, I’ll explain how and why warm-ups can effectively change the way you practice.

I will also break down my best techniques for warming up in a practice session or even right before you walk on stage.

Let’s get started!
